4 Three-Ingredient Breakfast Recipes That Will Blow You Away
We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We also know that a lot of people tend to skip breakfast, purely they don’t have the time in the morning to cook up a healthy, delicious breakfast.
While there are quick-and-easy breakfast go-to’s, like cereal or instant oats, those aren’t always as nutritious and one can get bored of them very quickly.
That is why we decided to help you step up your breakfast game with these three-ingredient breakfast recipes that will not only satisfy your tastebuds, but keep you going until lunch.
All of these recipes consist of only three ingredients, which means it’s easy to make and easy on the wallet.
Here are our four favourites!
One-Pan Protein Breakfast
Ingredients:
4 eggs
100g minced meat (beef, chicken or pork)
1 can canned tomatoes
Making this breakfast is as easy as cooking everything together in a pan. Start with the minced meat, and as soon as the meat starts to brown, add the eggs and the tomatoes and coo until the eggs are the way you like them.
Season with salt and pepper.
Chia Seed Breakfast Pudding
Ingredients:
400 ml coconut milk (1 can)
½ cup of chia seeds
2 tablespoons of honey
The great thing about this breakfast pud, is that you can make it the night before and simply grab it from the fridge in the morning.
Fill a cup or jar (or any container really) with coconut milk and add the chia seeds. The chia seeds will expand when they are mixed with the coconut milk. Refrigerate over night and drizzle the honey over the mixture in the morning.
You can also top the pudding with fresh fruit if you want.
Eggs Baked in Avocado
Ingredients:
Eggs (as many as you like, depending on how many avocados you are going to use)
Avocados
Olive oil
This one is perfect, as avocado’s have just come back in season!
Start by halving the avocados and removing the pit and making a ‘crater’ for the egg in the avocado where the pit was (you may have to scoop out some more flesh).
Then, simply crack the egg open and put it inside the crater you made. Drizzle with olive oil and bake in the oven for 10 – 15 minutes.
Alternatively, you can cook the avocados in the pan on the stove and simply put a lid on the pan for 15 – 20 minutes, until the eggs are cooked through.
Season with salt and pepper.
French Toast in A Mug
This recipe has three core ingredients, but you can add extras to your liking.
Ingredients:
¾ cup of milk
2 eggs
4 slices of white bread
Start by cutting the bread into cubes. Then, whisk the milk and eggs together.
In separate mugs, divide the bread cubes evenly, filling the mugs up halfway with bread. Fill the rest of the mug with the egg and milk mixture.
Microwave the mugs separately on high for about a minute and a half, until the egg mixture is set.
You can add anything you want to the french toast. Think cinnamon, powdered sugar, berries or even chocolate chips.
