February 04, 2016

Various reports are streaming in, suggesting that the Nigerian National Air Force has successfully bombed a base of terrorist group, Boko Haram, in the north east of the country.

The bomb was deployed via a drone attack, and the air force has also said the they believe the bomb hit a Boko Haram logistics base.

Along wth hitting the important logistics base, the air force also believe that they may have destroyed an ammunition depot in the attack, which would be a major loss and ‘setback’ for the deadly terrorist group.

Ayodele Famuyiwa, the Airforce Group captain, said in a statement that the unmanned drone seemed to hit an ammunition depot after they reviewed footage of the blast which showed a huge fireball, suggesting that ammunition had been blown up.

The military has been targeting the specific area where the lasted bombing took place for over a month now.

The area, which is a kilometre north of the Sambisa Forest, has been under constant surveillance by the military as it is believed to be an insurgent stronghold.

The military also said in a statement that they have conducted 286 operations in a sustained aerial bombardment of the Sambisa Forest over the past month.
