Aisha Buhari: President Recuperating Well in UK

Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has said that her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari, is recuperating well in London.

The president, who has been struggling with health issues for more than a year, has reportedly been bedridden in a top hospital in London for the past month.

This is the second time this year that the 74-year-old president has received medical care abroad.

While it has not been made public as to what exactly is wrong with the ailing president, Buhari himself has spoken of receiving blood transfusions when addressing his extended illness.

Aisha Buhari recently returned from London, where she visited her husband. A spokesperson for the First Lady said that she wished to convey a message to the Nigerian people, saying that her husband is ‘recuperating fast’.

Buhari’s health has been a constant talking point in governmental and political circles, as many are worried about the consequences should Buhari not finish his term in office.

Buhari is Muslim, and should he be unable to finish his term in office due to his health issues, many believe it will cause an uproar in the north of Nigeria, which is predominantly Muslim.

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has been given powers as acting president until Buhari’s return.
