Buhari’s Bodyguard Arrested Over Ties With Boko Haram

According to various reports, one of president Muhammadu Buhari’s bodyguards has been arrested for allegedly having ties with terrorist organization, Boko Haram.

According to Nigeria’s Vanguard news, Hassan Aminu is the bodyguard in question. Aminu had worked as a personal bodyguard to president Buhari.

Other sources have said Aminu had close ties with certain Boko Haram militants. He was apparently in close connection with the leader of Ansaru Islamic Sect, Khalid Albarnawi, second in command to Abubakar Shekau.

While the presidency has not yet commented on the reports of the arrest, sources close to the presidency said following Aminu’s arrest, the entire security personnel of the president had been overhauled.
