Cameroon Launches Plan To Rid Country Of Boko Haram
The Cameroonian government has announced that they have launched a new operations with their military in the hopes of driving out Nigerian terrorist group, Boko Haram.
The operation by the Cameroonian military, which is code-named Tentacle, began earlier this week and includes both armies – Nigerian and Cameroonian – working together while the Nigerian soldiers on the other side of Cameroon’s northern border joined forces with the Cameroonian soldiers.
General Jacob Kodji of the Cameroonian military said that they would do anything in their power to force the terrorists out of the country:
“…[sic] We must flush them out and free our people once and for all,” he said.
He continued saying that both militaries are capable of driving the Islamic terrorist group out:
“…[sic] Our militaries are well trained and know just what to do now and tomorrow as they have done in the past,” he concluded.
Northern Cameroon has suffered regular raids and suicide bombings attributed to Boko Haram in the recent months. And while the two counties seem to be working together, some Nigerians have accused Cameroonian soldiers of killing civilians in their quest to destroy Boko Haram members.
However, the Cameroonian government has denied these claimed made by Nigerians and have vowed to work together to bring an end to Boko Haram’s wave of terror.
