Fuel Crisis Worsens
People across the country are becoming more and more agitated about the growing fuel crisis in Nigeria, with some motorists not being able to purchase fuel anywhere.
Despite Nigeria being the biggest oil producer in Africa, the country is currently struggling immensely with fuel shortages all over the country.
Many people around Nigeria are also blaming president Buhari and his APC government for the fuel shortages.
When Buhari and his APC party were elected little over a year ago in March 2015, one of the issues they promised to tackle rapidly was the mismanagement and corruption protruding to the oil business in Nigeria. All these issues has prevented Africa’s largest economy from reaching its full potential.
There are still millions of Nigerians that live in devastating poverty, despite the apparent oil riches that the country has to offer.
And while the mismanagement and corruption is a great contributing factor to the oil and fuel crisis, it’s not the only factor that has had an impact on the fuel issue.
Global oil prices have also fallen over the past few months, which has wrecked havoc on oil producing countries all over the world.
However, the reasons for the crisis is not helping anyone at present.
For the past week, thousands and thousands of motorists queued in Lagos to get fuel, with many of them not being able to get fuel.
This also resulted in many people not being able to get to work because of the lack of fuel.
The crisis has just become worse over the past few weeks, despite the fact that the head of the state owned oil firm, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, assured Nigerians that the exceptionally long queues would disappear this week.
