March 24, 2016

Nigerian Army officials have announced that they had successfully captured and arrested two of terrorist group, Boko Haram’s most wanted ‘kingpins’.

The two terrorists were arrested in Taraba state by the Nigerian Police Force.

The Nigerian Police Force – as well as the army – has been surveying the area for quite sometime and had then managed to capture the wanted criminals.

Alhaji Ali Abdu and Abdulmumuni Abdulahi, indigenes of Yobe state, were the two wanted kingpins that were arrested by the authorities.

According to the Commissioner of Police Taraba state command, Shaba Alkari, police and army officials managed to capture the two terrorists through constant intelligence gathering by the army and the police force.

The police commissioner said that the two terrorists were arrested by the police without having knowledge that they were on the Wanted list.

“…[sic] We arrested them while on surveillance through interagency and tip off from our informants, we never new they were on the wanted list of the Boko Harm members,” he said.

He continued saying that the two terrorists have since been repatriated to Yobe by the Nigerian Army.

The news of the arrests come after Nigerian authorities have promised to step up the fight against Boko Haram and all its affiliates in an effort to bring peace to an increasingly violent Nigeria.
