Agent Affirms Ronald Araujo’s Future

October 30, 2026

The agent of Ronald Araujo has addressed speculation regarding his client’s long-term future at Liverpool, insisting it remains too early to determine whether his loan move from Barcelona will become permanent.

The 27-year-old Uruguayan international arrived at Anfield on a season-long loan with an option to buy. Despite primarily featuring in an unfamiliar right-back role under manager Andoni Iraola, Araujo has quickly won over fans with his playing style and consistency, recently earning Player of the Match honours against Brighton.

Araujo’s representative, Edoardo Crnjar, reiterated that the centre-back is settled and focused on the present.

“Ronald is performing well; we are very happy with what he is offering, but it’s still too early to talk about his future,” Crnjar said. “He feels great; he’s happy to be playing for Liverpool and to be helping the club and his teammates.”

After stepping away from football to manage mental health struggles in late 2025, Araujo has revitalised his form at the Merseyside club. While Liverpool hold a purchase option reportedly valued around €55 million, any formal discussions regarding a permanent transfer will wait until the end of the campaign.
