November 02, 2026

German forward Kai Havertz was the first-half beau of the ball after leading Arsenal to a 1-0 English Premier League (EPL) win over Liverpool.

The Gunners clashed with the Reds on the latter’s home turf of Anfield in Liverpool, England, on Sunday, 1 November.

The entirety of the match saw Liverpool retain a dominant hold on the ball, with 57% possession versus Arsenal’s 43%. However, the 16th minute saw Havertz break through their defence.

Team-mate Declan Rice sent a low cross into the box to the far post, which Havertz received before tapping it neatly into the back of the net.

The rest of the game saw both sides put on strong offensive and defensive displays. In the end, Arsenal walked away with the 1-0 victory.

As a result, Mikel Arteta’s team are sitting pretty at the top of the EPL table with 24 points; Liverpool occupy fifth place with 15 points.

Additionally, Havertz has become the EPL’s all-time top German goalscorer, with 46 goals to his name.
