Ashley Young: Chelsea Win Gave United New Energy

Manchester United winger, Ashley Young, has said that the club’s fantastic win over Chelsea on Sunday has rejuvenated the team and has given them more energy and confidence to perform in their upcoming Europa League match against Anderlecht.

United beat English Premier League leaders, Chelsea, 2-0 in a stunning performance at Old Trafford.

Young said that their great performance has certainly upped the morale of the team, and that they fully believe they will walk away with a victory against Anderlecht on Thursday.

“We have felt that kind of performance coming…There have been a lot of draws at home. I don’t think a lot of people saw that scoreline coming or the type of game, to be honest…We have belief in ourselves. I have confidence in every single player in the squad,” he said.

He continued, saying that if they perform the way they did against Chelsea on Thursday, they will definitely advance to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Thursday’s match against Anderlecht will be United’s second leg of the Europa League quarter finals. They previously drew against Anderlecht 1-1.

“Hopefully we have a semi-final coming up. If we can play like we did against Chelsea, then I am sure we can get through against Anderlecht and into the semi-finals,” he concluded.
