Dogo Pleased With Draw Against Rangers
Nasarawa United coach, Kabir Dogo, has said that he is pleased with his team’s performance during Sunday’s NPFL match against defending NPFL champions, Enugu Rangers, despite the game ending in a draw.
Nasarawa and the Rangers drew 1-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
For a brief moment, it seemed as though Nasarawa had the upper hand, when former Nigerian junior star, Thomas Zenke, scored the first goal in the first half.
However, it wasn’t long before the Rangers’ Godwin Aguda equalised the score.
“It’s a good result against the defending champions, Enugu Rangers right there at their backyard…It was a good game for both sides, we got our own chance at goal and were able to make it count positively [sic],” Dogo said.
He believes the draw has benefited the team by encouraging them to perform better in their upcoming games.
“It’s a good result and motivation for us going into the next match against newcomers, Katsina United on Wednesday in Lafia…We will fight hard to ensure we take the maximum points from the clash to further push up our points on the league log,” he concluded.
