Eagles Coach Worried About Heatwave In Kaduna

March 24, 2016

Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, has said that there is cause for a little concern about the extreme heatwave that is affecting the Kaduna region.

Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, are set to take on Egypt’s Pharaohs tomorrow in the first qualifying match of the 2017 AFCON Tournament in Kaduna.

The Eagles had their first training session ahead of the match against Egypt on Tuesday evening in Kaduna at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.

Siasia said that while his players gave it their all in the training session, you could see that some of them were struggling with the warm weather – weather that is, however, considerably cooler than that of Abudja.

“…[sic] You could still figure out that some of them were fighting to survive the not-too-friendly weather despite being cooler than the Abuja weather,” he said.

However, Siasia said that he is still happy with the level his players are at and that he is confident they will have a good game against Egypt come Friday:

“…But I am happy with the commitment level of the players. You could see that they really want to fight for their fatherland and they tried to put in all they have in the training,” he concluded.

Nigeria is currently second on the log in Group G, with Egypt in the lead in the group by four points.
