Eagles To Play Friendly Matches In London
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has announced their plans for two scheduled friendly matches between the Nigerian national football team and two other, top European teams.
The matches are scheduled to take place in June of this year and will be played abroad in London, England.
The friendly matches will act as a warm-up match for the Super Eagles ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying matches.
According to Amaju Pinnick , president of the Nigerian Football Federation, the NFF would like to utilize the two FIFA windows in June of this year to bring all the Eagles players together for friendly matches ahead of the qualifying matches.
The federation has been in discussion with it’s UK-based agents to arrange the friendly matches. They have said that they would announce who the European teams are that they would be playing the matches against in the next few weeks.
“…[sic] One obvious thing is that the two friendly matches are slated for London in June. We have opened discussions with some top European countries for the two FIFA window dates and I am convinced that they are responding positively…The choice of London for the friendly matches is because it is centrally located and the federation will not find it difficult to assemble the players,” a source close to the NFF told reporters.
