EPL: Aguero And Koeman Win Awards

The monthly awards for the English Premier League – the biggest soccer league in the world – have been given out for the month of January.

This month, the top winners hail from Manchester City and Southampton.

Southampton’s Ronald Koeman has been named Premier League manager of the month, while star player for Manchester City, Sergio Aguero, was awarded the player’s award.

Koeman won the award after he successfully helped ad guided the Saints to three Premier League wins out of a possible four in January.

The Saints had a killer of a month, beating Watford, West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United.

Koeman said that he was pleased with his award and that he shares it with the rest of the technical team:

“…I’m very pleased because it’s always nice to win awards…It’s of course a personal prize but it’s great for the whole technical staff, all the players, the people in the club and the fans that we win again,” he said.

On the other hand Aguero has won for the third time in his career.

This time around he managed to score five of City’s eight Premier League goals in January alone, so it was only fitting that the award went to him.
