Iwobi: Ozil Is An Inspiration

Nigerian international football star, Alex Iwobi, has said that fellow Arsenal teammate, Mesut Ozil has been a great source of inspiration for him since his move to the English Premier League club.

He also said that Ozil has really helped him develop his skills as a football player and that he is grateful for that.

“…Mesut just tells me that I’m young and need to express myself on the pitch…Obviously I need to listen to other people’s advice as well, but he tells me to always play with a smile on my face and enjoy the game,” Iwobi told Arsenal’s official website.

Ozil recently compared the 20-year-old Super Eagles player to Austin Okocha. This comment seemed to have taken Iwobi by surprise, as he later said:

“…When I saw [it] I was like, ‘wow is he serious?’ because he never really says that much to me…He just gives me advice and help, but it’s such a confidence boost for such a great player to say that about me,” he said.
