Iwobi Trains With Eagles
One of Nigeria’s finest football players and star of English Premier League side, Arsenal – Alex Iwobi – is back in his home country and training with the Super Eagles.
It was almost touch and go for the football star, however, has he suffered a terrible bout of food poisoning over the weekend.
Many fans had feared that the food poisoning would affect Iwobi’s chances of playing for the Super Eagles in their upcoming games in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.
The Eagles are set to take on the Pharaohs of Egypt in an important game on Friday.
Egypt is currently leading Group G in the AFCON qualifying series with six points after they managed to beat Chad and Tanzania. Nigeria is in the second place with four points, which leaves them with some work to do in order to qualify.
As it stands now, the Super Eagles will have to accumulate at least four points from their upcoming games in order to overtake the leaders.
However, with Iwobi back in the team again, there is once again hope that the Super Eagles can pull it off.
The Eagles arrived the Ahmadu Bello Stadium yesterday afternoon and soon started their training for the upcoming games, Iwobi in tow.
The Egyptian team is currently on their way to Kaduna, where they will face the Eagles in the opening leg of the qualifier on Friday, 25 March.
Thereafter, the Super Eagles will travel to Alexandria in Egypt for the second leg of the opening qualifier.
