Jamie Vardy Named PL Player of the Season

Leicester City’s star striker, Jamie Vardy, has been named as the Premier League’s Player of the Season.

Vardy has been extremely instrumental in the success of his team who – against all odds – took the title of champions in this seasons Premier League.

Leicester City had a 5000 – 1 chance to win the Premier League.

The club announced that Vardy was awarded the Player of the Season on Twitter, congratulating the 29-year old striker.

Vardy was also voted Player of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) and is also in the running for the Golden Boot award after having netted 24 goals this season thus far.

Vardy beat out teammates Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante, Kasper Schmeichel and Wes Morgan for the Player of the Season award, along with Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, Spurs trio Kane, Dele Alli and Toby Alderweireld and Ham United’s Dimitri Payet.
