Jose Mourinho Officially Signs With United

English Premier League club, Manchester United, has officially announced Jose Mourinho as their new manager.

Mourinho was in talks with the club for the past week, and many news outlets were simply awaiting an official word from the Red Devils on the Mourinho signing – which they finally received today.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager will now step in at the helm of United on a 3-year contract – or as the club was quoted as saying “at least until 2020.”

Mourinho has always said that he would like to coach at Manchester United one day, and it seems that he is very happy with his new job.

“…To become Manchester United manager is a special honour in the game…It is a club known and admired throughout the world. There is a mystique and a romance about it which no other club can match,” Mourinho said.

He continued saying he always felt an affinity to the club:

“…I have always felt an affinity with Old Trafford; it has hosted some important memories for me in my career and I have always enjoyed a rapport with the United fans. I’m looking forward to being their manager and enjoying their magnificent support in the coming years,” he said.

Mourinho is expected to earn around £15 million a year at Old Trafford.
