Ranieri: Mahrez Will Stay With Leicester

Claudio Ranieri, head coach of English Premier League champions, Leicester City, has told reporters that he is confident star player, Riyad Mahrez, will stay with the club amid rumours that he might be leaving.

The Algerian international had a stellar season with Leicester, where he managed to help his team reach the top and claim the title of champions.

Throughout their campaign, Mahrez scored 17 goals for Leicester.

His incredible performance during the season earned him two awards, including the  PFA Fans’ Player of the Year as well as the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.

“…I am very confident with him…He wants to stay here with us. He enjoys it, he is laughing. He is not a man who says, ‘Oh coach, I want to go.’ No, he is happy,” Ranieri said of Mahrez.

Mahrez was transferred to Leicester for only €500 000 from second-tier French club, Le Havre.

Now, it seems that Mahrez is on the radar of many of England and Europe’s top clubs.
