Shehu Abdullahi Confident in Eagles, Bafana Game

Nigerian midfielder, Shehu Abdullahi, has assured Super Eagles fans that Nigeria will walk away with a win when they face South Africa next month.

The Super Eagles will face off against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on June 10th.

This is the first match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

“It’s going to be tough for us but we are ready to do all we have to do to get the three points. It is very important to start the qualifiers on a good note and that is what we are going to do…South Africa didn’t qualify for the last Nations Cup like us, so that will also be at the back of their minds when they come here to face us [sic],” he said.

Abdullahi continued, saying that while the Eagles have a great respect for South Africa, they will go all out to prevent disappointing fans again.

The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations last year.

“Nigerians were not happy when we failed to qualify last time out and we’re determined to go all the way now to prove we are sorry for letting them down…We respect South Africa but we are going out for the three points and I’m sure we are going to do just that,” he said.
