Siasia Confident About Eagles’ Performance

The Super Eagles’ stand-in coach, Samson Siasia, has said that he is confident in the Eagles’ upcoming performance against the Pharaohs of Egypt in the first leg of the 2017 AFCON Qualifier.

The Eagles will take on the Egyptians in Kaduna on Friday.

Siasia addressed the media yesterday after an Eagles training session in Abudja. He said that he was confident in his team, despite the Eagles currently being second in Group G and the Egyptians topping the log of the group.

He said that while the Egyptians are known for their sleek-footed attackers, the Eagles won;t shy away from attacking them either:

“…[sic] We are not going to be afraid of attacking the Egyptians, we know them already but all that we want to ensure is that we get our tactics right. We have to play as a unit together and not to give those guys that we believe that can give us problems room to play because if you give them room to play, they will destroy you. We know them and we have to make sure they don’t have that room to operate,” he said.

He also said that he is confident in his players – especially the duo of Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Elneny:

“…I have utmost confidence on the players we have and with such players, you don’t have to worry about anything.. I am also at home and so must not have any pressure here,” he said.
