Sunderland Set to Finalise Deal with Ruiter
According to reports, Sunderland is set to finalise their transfer terms with Dutch goalkeeper, Robbin Ruiter, by the end of the day.
Ruiter, who played for Dutch club, FC Utrecht, recently spent some time with the Black Cats, when manager, Simon Grayson, put the 30-year-old on trial in two friendly matches.
Grayson said that the goalkeeper’s performance in these two friendlies, against Bradford and Scunthorpe United, convinced him to sign Ruiter on a permanent basis.
Ruiter is expected to arrive at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday to undergo his medical and to finalise the personal terms of his contract.
It is believed that the Black Cats have offered Ruiter a two-year contract.
Ruiter became a free agent at the end of last season when he left Eredivisie club, Utrecht, after five years and 137 appearances.
