Super Eagles Beat Luxembourg City
Nigerians all around were smiling on Tuesday evening as the country’s national soccer team, the Super Eagles, defeated Luxembourg City in an international friendly with 3 goals to 1.
The win comes just after the Super Eagles beat fellow African team, Mali 1 – 0 in France in Saturday.
Striker Brown Ideye, was the first to score a goal in the 36th minute – much to the joy of the Nigerian team.
Then, in the second half of the match, it was all thanks to Manchester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, who brought the score to 2 goals to 0 with a goal in the 69th minute.
By this time it was clear that Nigeria was on a roll and out for blood.
The third goal was all thanks to Odion Ighalo, who came on for Ideye, and scored the third and final goal in the 71st minute.
However, Luxembourg then had to work really hard to try and redeem themselves as they finally managed to score one goal at the very end of the match in the 90th minute.
The Super Eagles were visibly elated at their win after the match, along with the rest of Nigeria.
