Super Eagles To Take On Egypt Once More After Draw
Friday’s AFCON qualifying match between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and the Pharaohs or Egypt may have ended in a draw, but that doesn’t mean that the Nigerian team is ready to give up – at least not according to their coach.
Last Friday in Kaduna saw the Super Eagles clash against the Egyptians, who are currently at the top of the log in the Group G pool.
However, while a draw meant that the Pharaohs of Egypt would still retain their top spot in the group – with Nigeria in second position – Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, said that the Nigerian team ‘would make up for’ Friday’s draw in Alexandria today.
“…[sic] We can still make the difference in Egypt…We have to encourage the boys so that they could play for Nigeria,” a confident Siasia told reporters.
Nigeria have their work cut out for them now as Chad had to pull out of the 2017 AFCON qualifiers due to financial constraints.
This means that only one tea, could now qualify for AFCON 2017 from this three team group, with Egypt in the lead by two points.
However, Siasia is confident in his boys and believes that they could very well pull off a win in Alexandria tonight.
He continued telling reporters:
“…We’re going to Egypt to win. They were lucky to get an equaliser (in the first match), but we have learnt from this experience,” he said.
